Iran Oscar winner, his wife in 90s: Photo reveals

Online photo has emerged showing Iran Oscar winning director Asghar Farhadi and his wife in a theatre festival in the 90s.

Farhadi and Parisa Bakhtavar have been living together for at least 21 years.

Bakhtavar is also an Iranian director who made movies such as ‘Tambourine’ (2007) penned by her husband Farhadi.

In a media interview, the great Iranian director said of his matrimonial life, "The subjects of my flicks have nothing to do with my life”, adding, “I lead a happy marriage.”

Most notable works by Iranian directors, including his Oscar winning ‘A Separation’ and ‘The Salesman’, are related to family.

Even his latest ‘Everybody Knows’ (2018) which will be shown in many countries is also themed on familial concepts.
